For people who suffer from depression and anxiety, the very real effects of these conditions are felt on a daily basis. However, when these conditions are paired with stroke recovery, it seems the quality of life is diminished even further.
According to new research, Dutch reporters have found that depression and anxiety are bigger threats to people recovering from a stroke than anyone thought possible.

The first indication I had was the feeling of emptiness I had 24/7. The usual joys...nothing. At other times, I had this encompassing gloominess in me. I didn't want to, nor did I enjoy, any of my old hobbies and sports. I felt hopeless. It's something you can't just tell a person to snap out of. It's a serious complex medical condition and it should be treated accordingly. It's much more common than previously thought. It's been around for many years as has been portrayed in countless publications. It's said to due to a chemical imbalance that leads to physical manifestations.
