Do I have to floss regularly?

I've asked my dentist this because really, I only floss when there's something stuck between my teeth. He told me that flossing is not an alternative to brushing and that i should floss BEFORE brushing. The toothbrush can’t always get into the tight crevices. Regular flossing is the best way to remove food and plaque from between tightly packed teeth.
Another thing, did you know that smoking cigarettes can cause gum disease and is linked to oral cancers? Early detection may make treatment more successful, so regular check-ups are essential if you smoke and drink alcohol. more

Fluoride Toothpaste and Sugary Drinks

If you can't avoid acidic and sugary drinks, then limit it to mealtimes and make sure to brush with a fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day. Oh and by the way, artificially sweetened drinks are included on this list.
Our mouth is susceptible to two main diseases -- tooth decay and gum disease. Decay is caused when bacteria in plaque create acids, which then attack the tooth enamel. Gum disease is an infection caused by a build-up of plaque and bacteria at the base of the teeth.

There have also been other studies that have examined the potential impact of periodontal disease on high-risk pregnancies. There are plenty of reasons to focus on your child's oral health.
Did you know that children miss a lot of school hours per year because of dental problems? Toothache can distract your child or cause schoolwork to suffer. A healthy smile builds confidence. Now don't you want your child to have a positive self-image?
First, you have to schedule dental checkups twice a year. Then you have to make sure that they brush with a fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day. And control your child's snacking. It's never a good idea to have much of starchy or sugary foods. more
