My mom, who has diabetes, has a terrific relationship with her primary care physician. I think it's the best way for her to effectively control and manage her condition. She makes sure that she asks the right questions and her physician is able to make clarifications as they arise. My mom follows instructions to the word too.
Aside from that, she monitors her blood sugar, she takes prescribed medications, and she also has a good exercise program. Along with proper nutrition, this allows her to keep her weight down.

According to a British study carried out on 517 diabetics and over 22,000 adults, eating fish 2 times in a week helps to reduce the risk of getting kidney diseases in people living with diabetes. Lifestyle and dietary questionnaires were used to determine the consumption of fish on the participants. Diabetics who ate fish once or less per week had 18% or 4 times more likely to have protein deposits in their urine compared to those who ate 2 servings per week.

We all know that nutrition is a big part of diabetes management. But what's this I hear about a diet consisting entirely of raw organic foods? Supposedly, it holds the potential to reverse diabetes or reduce insulin dependence.
My mom has Adult Onset Type II Diabetes and she's very conscious about her diet and in avoiding particular foods. She and I wonder if going vegan will be better for her. She dreads the adjustment though.
Currently, she eats smaller meals more often throughout the day. She chooses whole grain over processed foods. She limits her intake of fatty foods and ... more
